Mayo team to play Meath

Moran to start for Mayo

DESPITE picking up a broken hand last week Barry Moran is picked to start Sundays All-Ireland quarter-final against Meath.

Moran will line out at full-forward at Croke Park for the 2pm throw-in, subject to a late fitness test.

The Mayo team shows only one change from that which defeated Galway in the Connacht final - Donal Vaughan coming in at right-full back for Liam OMalley.

Elsewhere the team is unchanged. On the bench David Clarke has recovered to claim a place while neither Tom Cunniffe or Barry Kelly are fit to tog.

Trevor Mortimer will captain the team. Beside him Alan Dillon will make his 30th championship appearance for Mayo while at midfield David Heaney will feature for the 45th time.

Mayo will be aiming to beat Meath in championship for the first time since the All-Ireland Final of 1951. Their last league victory over the Royals was in 2001.
