Details for the Play & Stay with the GAA in May initiative which is being roled out nationally over the month of May. The initiative involves a series of Under-8 Hurling Go-Games Blitzes at different venues around the county.

Guidelines
  • Players present at blitz are split into even teams of 9-a-side or 7-a-side.
  • Pitches of 45m x 35m set up around the pitch using agility poles and cones.
  • Pitches contain two zones split by a centre line. Backs and forwards stay in zones. Midfielders may float around.
  • Games of 7 minutes per half, using the first touch hurling ball. Ground hurling.
  • Coaches/parents are assigned to each team and must rotate player’s positions after each half.
  • Players to get at least three matches. Rubber or normal bas hurls may be used.
  • Host clubs to organise people to referee each pitch.
