Seo Spoirt on TG4

February 22, 2007

Friday 23 February on TG4 @ 8:00pm

An ‘Seó Spórt’, live from TG4 headquarters @ 8pm on Fridays, is bringing two of Irelands sporting legends to your screens. This weekly lively show will have former football All-Ireland winner as a player and manager Paidí Ó Sé in studio this coming Friday and twice former Rugby Triple Crown winners captain and former Lions team captain, Ciarán Fitzgerald is interviewed ahead of the English match in Croke Park.  Eoin Ó Neachtain, rugby analyst with RTE Raidió na Gaeltachta and former Seó Spórt analyst will be in-house reviewing this weekends other games.

Páidí Ó Sé is as successful a GAA star as they come. He won eight All-Ireland medals of the ten finals he played and only once in those ten games did his opponent managed to score a point. Kerry had not won an All-Ireland since Ó Sé’s playing days themselves in 1986, but within two years of management Páidí brought the Kingdom their first crown in eleven years in 1997. As all knows well by now he has taken charge of the Clare footballers and it will be interesting to see what future Páidí thinks his new team holds for this season. Along with SBB he will revew this weekends league games and cast his opinion on the extention of foreign games in Croke Park next year.

Focusing on the big rugby events of this weekend will be Eoin Ó Neachtain and SBB, but an Seó Spórt have an exclusive interview with one of Irish rugbys greatest players, Ciarán Fitzgerald. An inspirational leader, he was seen on television exhorting his exhausted teammates in the dying minutes of the 1985 match against England with the immortal words "Come on lads, wheres your f***ing pride!" Ciarán’s knowledge of the big game will throw more light on what both teams might expect this Saturday.

‘Seó Spórt’ is a live weekly magazine programme that’s a must for sports fans as they prepare for the weekend’s action. It is your one-stop shop for what’s happening in the sporting world. Co-presented by Micheál Ó Domhnaill, (already well known as the regular presenter of GAA Beo on TG4 for the past 7 years) and Gemma Ní Chionnaith a presenter with RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta. They will be joined in studio by resident sports pundit Seán Bán Breathnach (SBB) who will be unveiling his views on upcoming sports events alongside a guest analyst each week.
