RIP PJ Gillespie

Mayo GAA are saddened to hear of the passing of PJ Gillespie (RIP) Belleek Ballina.

PJ is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth, parents Martin and Clare and brother Matt.
Sadly missed by his sons PJ, Gerry daughters Jillian and Fiona, brothers Fr. Gerry and Eugene, sister Clare, daughter-in-law Edel, sons-in-law Christian & Gerry, grandchildren, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces relatives and friends.

PJ was a former club treasurer and committee member for his club Ballina Stephenites and a well known referee for Mayo GAA and a North Mayo and County club delegate. PJ refereed in the 1977 & 1985 North Junior finals, Intermediate Championship finals in 1978 and 1992, in 1981 he refereed the County senior football final and the senior league division 2 final in 1984. two county finals in 1977 & 1980, County minor final, National Football league, championship and Gael Linn ties and all grades of football in North Mayo and County.

Reposing at McGowan's Funeral Home, Ballina on Thursday 27th July from 5pm with removal at 7pm to St.Muredach's Cathedral, Ballina.
Requiem Mass on Friday morning at 11:30am followed by burial in Leigue Cemetery Ballina.
