U20 football manager Maurice Sheridan will not second term.

Mayo GAA U20 football manager Maurice Sheridan has informed the Mayo GAA County Board that he will not be seeking a second term as Mayo U20 football manager.  Maurice Sheridan was three years at the helm and despite not winning any major honours, several of the players he coached and managed have progressed to the Mayo senior football panel.  Mayo GAA Chairperson Seamus Tuohy thanked Sheridan for his commitment and dedication to Mayo GAA.  “I would like to thank Maurice and his backroom team for all the work and time they gave to Mayo GAA and in particular the way they developed so many new players that have gone on to represent Mayo at senior level,” commented Seamus Tuohy.  Mayo GAA will now revert to the clubs within the county for nominations for the position of U20 manager for next year.  “Thankfully we have plenty of time and I am sure the upcoming championship will also throw up a few new faces that will be considered for next year's panel.  There is a great crop of young players in Mayo at present and the future certainly looks bright.” commented Seamus Tuohy.
